Stretching a bolt gun past 600 yards on a budget usually means choosing between optical clarity and mechanical features like zero stops and exposed turrets — most sub-$700 scopes compromise on one or the other. The Athlon Midas BTR Gen2 HD 4.5-27x50 puts HD glass, a precision zero stop, and 27x magnification in a package that gives new long-range shooters the tools to build real DOPE without outgrowing their optic.
The AHMR reticle features a 20 MOA illuminated center with a 2 MOA center cross and 2 MOA hash mark increments extending to 30 MOA on both the vertical and horizontal axes. The illuminated portion spans the inner 10 MOA in each direction, providing excellent low-light visibility for the holdover references you use most often. Beyond that, the hash marks continue to 30 MOA for extended-range holds. The AHMR uses standard MOA increments rather than caliber-specific BDC — it works with any cartridge as long as you know your load's trajectory. Subtensions are valid at 15x.
