We're a family from Miami. We've been lobstering the Florida Keys, Biscayne Bay, and the reefs off South Florida our whole lives. How to use it

Spot your lobster tucked into a reef ledge or rocky hole. Use the stick end to gently guide it out from behind — never poke, just nudge. As it backs out or turns, position the snare loop behind the carapace over the tail, then give a firm, quick pull to cinch it tight. Transfer to your catch bag. That's it. With a little practice you'll be moving through spots faster than divers carrying two separate pieces of gear.

Yes. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) permits the use of snares for recreational spiny lobster harvest. Wire snares that penetrate the shell are prohibited — the LobsterStick loop cinches around the tail without puncturing, keeping you fully legal.
