INCI: Phloretin.
Botanical name: Pyrus malus
Percentage: 98%
Phloretin, a plant polyphenol, has a dihydrochalcone structure. It can be found in the peel and root bark of succulent fruits like apples and pears, as well as in vegetable juices. It is a powerful antioxidant and skin lightener, similar to ionic acid and arbutin.
Phloretin can treat acne and provide calming and moisturising properties. Phloretin is both safe and effective, and it is naturally occurring. A clinical investigation indicated that 0.3% Phloretin inhibits tyrosinase at a rate of up to 98.2%, outperforming conventional lighteners like kojic acid and arbutin.
Phloretin, employed as a co-lightening agent, enhances the inhibition rate of tyrosine inhibitors. This product neutralises free radicals, boosts cell turnover, reduces discoloration, and promotes a brighter, more even skin tone. It also offers greater environmental protection. For optimal results, use skin lightening products with other lightening ingredients.
