Kandinsky painted Concentric Circles in 1913 as part of his systematic investigation into the emotional power of colour relationships. Each circle-within-circle pairing creates a different visual and emotional effect — some warm, some cool, some harmonious, some deliberately jarring. It's his colour theory made visible, and it's been one of the most compelling abstract works in the Western canon for over a century.
