Milbemax Allwormer Tablets for Small Dogs is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic treatment developed by Elanco Animal Health. Designed for dogs weighing between 0.5 kg and 5 kg, this oral tablet formulation provides effective control and prevention of common internal parasites, including roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, and heartworm. It is suitable for puppies and adult dogs within the specified weight range and is often used as part of a regular deworming protocol.

Uses / Indications

• Milbemax is indicated for:
• Treatment and control of roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina)
• Treatment and control of hookworms (Ancylostoma spp., Uncinaria stenocephala)
• Treatment and control of whipworms (Trichuris vulpis)
• Treatment and control of tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Echinococcus spp.)
• Prevention of heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis) when administered monthly

Feeding Instructions / Dosage

• Dogs 0.5–5 kg: 1 tablet orally
• Administer once every 3 months for intestinal worms
• For heartworm prevention, administer monthly
• Can be given with or without food
• Always follow your veterinarian’s dosage recommendation

Possible Side Effects

• Mild and transient gastrointestinal upset (vomiting, diarrhea)
• Lethargy or drooling in rare cases
• Hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. itching, swelling)
• Neurological signs in dogs with MDR1 gene mutation (e.g. Collies) if overdosed
  

Drug & Food Interactions

• No known food interactions
• Use with caution in dogs receiving other macrocyclic lactones (e.g. ivermectin)
• Consult a veterinarian before combining with other antiparasitic or immunosuppressive drugs

Precautions

• For animal use only
• Do not use in dogs under 0.5 kg or younger than 2 weeks
• Use with caution in Collie breeds or dogs with known MDR1 gene mutation
• Store below 25°C, away from moisture and direct sunlight
