A textually well-preserved copy of an early anti-Quaker polemic. This example retains the rather scarce engraved frontis for Charles Brome showing in the top pretended simplicity of the Quaker sufferers and martyrs, but in the lower panel represents them as half-demons, with hooves and tails, only fit to be routed out and destroyed. 

This the earliest, most expansive, and vitriolic attack on the followers of George Fox, etc.,

Original paneled calf, loss to spine as shown, binding still rather solid if handled with slight care. The flyleaf and frontis present, but detached with foredge of full page engraving rolled, just intruding into the image. Pastedown partially lifted from board. The remainder of the text crisp with some occasional stains, handling, and foxing. Very usable.
