MHC-Monoshield-Colostrum - New-born lambs should receive sufficient, good-quality colostrum shortly after birth to ensure protection against disease and infection.

MHC Monoshield Colostrum contains essential antibodies (immunoglobulins), which provide the lamb with immunity to disease and infection. It is also nutritionally complete, providing vital energy, proteins, vitamins and minerals in the first hours of life.  From birth, a lamb's ability to absorb immunoglobins into the bloodstream reduces, so it is vital that it consumes at least 50ml of colostrum per kg of birth weight as quickly as possible and preferably within the first two hours of life. In the first 24 hours, total colostrum intake should be 200ml/kg of birth weight.
