President Thomas Jefferson was raising fish in 1805 for food. This book explores the history of raising fish for sportfishing and food since then. It also has a focus on the new technologies used today in growing and harvesting Trout and Salmon.
I believe this book is the most current overview analysis now available on how the ever-increasing population growth in the world plus the ongoing climate change factors have affected how we grow trout and salmon. It examines the need for more fish from aquaculture to feed the world’s population and the new challenges of growing fish for sportfishermen in a changing climate. Over 50 people contributed to the book’s content and its Foreword was written by John Randoph. He was editor/publisher of Fly Fisherman Magazine from 1978-2009.
