The Vortex 5C Metric Lathe Collet – Hex – 8mm is a soft, emergency 5C collet designed for use in 5C lathe collet chucks. It’s intentionally malleable so you can bore it to exact size, depth, taper, or shape to match a specific component. With a precision runout of about 13–15 microns, this collet helps you achieve concentric, repeatable results on small- to mid-sized parts. The included pins keep the collet "open" during the boring operation, enabling clean, controlled work in your lathe.

When a standard size won’t fit, this emergency collet can be re-bored many times over to hold larger parts, extending its useful life and reducing the need for additional purchases.
