Description:
Jun Miyake's new interpretation of Kawabata Yasunari's masterpiece "Snow Country." Following Kazuo Ishiguro's "The Painter of the Floating World," this is a collaboration with the Nobel Prize-winning author! The famous "Yukiguni" (Snow Country) by Yasunari Kawabata, a great writer, begins with this very famous line: "When I passed through the long tunnel at the border, I found myself in a snowy country. Nearly 90 years after its publication, this masterpiece, which has been read and filmed many times around the world, will be revived in the NHK drama "Snow Country" (starring Issei Takahashi, Nao, and others). Set in a region of heavy snowfall in the early Showa period (early 20th century), the film depicts the love between a writer and a geisha, and the truth hidden between the lines. The overwhelming beauty of the images and the delicate psychological depiction are paired with a musical world where mystery and madness, truth and fiction intersect. The one-of-a-kind worldview of Jun Miyake, who has just released his latest work "Whispered Garden," will make everyone who sees it feel a new "snow country.
