Why this kit matters
The Haruna was one of the third Kongo-class fast battleships of the Imperial Japanese Navy, commissioned in 1915 and later modernised for World War II service. She took part in major naval engagements in 1944, including the Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf.
This kit captures that late-war configuration, giving model builders a chance to recreate a historically significant vessel. Its size at 1/700 scale offers a manageable build with impressive visual presence, making it a standout both for display and modelling skill-development.
How to use it
Begin by trimming sprue parts and cleaning any mould lines. Use plastic cement to assemble hull, deck and superstructure. Paint hull and deck surfaces with ship-appropriate colours, then build turrets, aircraft and smaller fittings. Apply decals and finish with clear coat or weathering as desired. Once complete, mount on a shelf or in a display cabinet for full effect.
This is a plastic model kit. Assembly is required. Paint and glue required (not included).
