An album born of the friendship of two great artists and their love for BrahmsThis is the first recording together of two great artists, pianist András Schiff and composer and clarinetist Jörg Wittmann. written in 1894, Brahms' late masterpiece, They perform two clarinet sonatas, Op. 120, together. Schiff plays solo in Wittmann's work, "Interludes for Piano," which was inserted between the two sonatas. According to the liner notes by Wittmann in the booklet, this piece was born out of his friendship with András Schiff and their mutual admiration for Brahms. The recording was made in Neumarkt, Germany. Universal Music/IMS
