Mechanics, equipment rebuilders, and serious DIYers know the frustration of a weeping shaft seal: oil on the floor, contaminated bearings, and a repair job that has to be done twice. These NBR TC rotary shaft oil seals are engineered to create a reliable, long-lasting barrier between rotating shafts and their housings — keeping lubricant in and contaminants out from the first revolution.
Each set contains 10 or 20 pieces (quantity shown in the variant name) of double-lip TC oil seals made from nitrile rubber (NBR) with a carbon steel outer case and a precision garter spring. Shaft diameters covered range from 30mm (≈1.18") to 65mm (≈2.56"), with outer diameters from 40mm (≈1.57") up to 130mm (≈5.12") and thicknesses from 5mm (≈0.20") to 13mm (≈0.51"). Select your exact ID × OD × thickness combination from the variant dropdown above.
These TC shaft seals are well-suited for gearbox output shafts, agricultural equipment axles, small engine crankshafts, hydraulic pump shafts, and industrial conveyor drives — anywhere a rotating shaft passes through a housing that must retain oil or grease while excluding dust and moisture.

Measure three dimensions: shaft diameter (ID), housing bore diameter (OD), and housing bore depth (thickness). All three must match the seal. For example, a 40×60×8mm seal fits a 40mm shaft, a 60mm housing bore, and needs 8mm of axial depth. To convert inches to mm, multiply by 25.4 — a 1.575" shaft is approximately 40mm. When in doubt, measure the old seal directly.
TC designates a double-lip seal. The primary lip retains lubricant and excludes contaminants; the secondary dust lip adds a second barrier against dirt and water. A garter spring behind the primary lip maintains consistent radial contact with the shaft for reliable sealing over the life of the seal.
NBR (nitrile rubber) generally operates reliably from approximately -40°F to +250°F (-40°C to +120°C). For sustained higher temperatures — such as near exhaust components or in high-speed hydraulic systems — a Viton (FKM) seal is typically the better choice.
Yes. NBR has good resistance to water, petroleum-based oils, and greases, making these seals suitable for outdoor power equipment, agricultural machinery, and applications with water splash exposure. For full submersion or contact with fuels and solvents, confirm fluid compatibility before use.
All dimensions are metric (mm). Many metric sizes correspond closely to SAE shaft sizes — for example, a 32mm seal fits a shaft of approximately 1.26". Always verify actual measured shaft and housing dimensions rather than relying on nominal designations, as manufacturing tolerances vary.
TC oil seals are designed for rotary shaft applications and are not rated for axial load. Under normal lubricated conditions, they are generally suitable for shaft surface speeds up to approximately 4–6 m/s (800–1,200 ft/min). Running dry or exceeding recommended speed will accelerate lip wear and reduce seal life.
Clean the housing bore and shaft. Lightly lubricate the seal lip with the fluid it will retain. Press the seal squarely into the bore using a flat driver or seal installation tool — never strike the seal face directly. The seal should sit flush with or slightly below the housing face. Use a chamfer or installation sleeve to protect the lip from sharp shaft edges during assembly.
