Mixed media; mix of polymer clays, paperclay, vintage textile trims, lace, velour, gauze, tulle, wire, beads, feathers, acrylics and soft pastels. The corvid's hands/ claws are made out of fabric over a wire armature, and are lightly poseable. Each feather on the corvid's wings is handmade; they are hand-stitched using silk threads, textile remnants and lace trims, over wire, which allows them to be manipulated and posed. The birdcage skirt can be opened and the little doll inside can be taken out.

This anthropomorphic piece was inspired by the countless ancient and folk Greek tales, where a human's change of physical structure or metamorphosis into a bird is quite usual. The three main reasons, as we read in those tales, are: grace (to be saved from an imminent danger), punishment (due to disobeying divine laws) or comfort (to console, solace and alleviate one's deep pain).
