Tomoko Sugawara, who has been performing Japanese songs as her life's work, sings with maturity. The album includes 20 songs such as "Yashi no Mi" (Palm Seed), "Karatachi no Hana" (Flower of Karatachi), "When I Feel Sad" (When I Feel Sad), "Nagasaki no Kane" (Bell of Nagasaki), and "Inochi no Uta" (Song of Life). This album allows listeners to rediscover the splendor of Japanese songs that have been passed down through the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and Heisei eras. Piano is by Yusuke Yamagata. Tomoko Sugawara graduated from Miyagi Gakuin Women's University with a degree in musicology and vocal performance. She has given three recitals, "Beautiful Japanese Songs and Opera Arias," and in 2009 passed the audition for the Ryosuke Hatanaka Japanese Song Master Class sponsored by the Japan Federation of Musicians' Association.
