A duo unit of Rui Yoshigaki (guitar) and Nonoko Yoshida (saxophone). This is a strange and delightful first album, full of compositions, meticulous arrangements, and tricks unique to sound source works. Formed in 2019 by Rui Yoshigaki, a guitarist/composer based in Osaka who has performed throughout Japan and Europe, and also works in dance and stage music, and Nonoko Yoshida, a saxophonist who studied under John Zorn and Ned Rosenberg and moved to Hokkaido as her base after 9.5 years in New York. This is the first album of the duo unit "Koganu" formed by Nonoko Yoshida in 2019. The songs are mainly composed and meticulously arranged, including elements of improvisation. The album contains 9 strange and joyful songs, with influences from various genres such as rock, punk, classical, jazz, and film music. The album is also full of unique tricks that are different from live performances and can only be found on sound recordings. The jacket features an oil painting by Yoshigaki. Includes commentary and liner notes by Yoshigaki and Yoshida.
