Henri Prudhon Estate was bron from the wine-producing heritage that both Henri Prodhon and his spouse inherited from previous generations. Later the business was developed from just selling the estate's harvest as grape must or wine to the region's merchants, to include bottling and direct marketing influenced by Henri's son, Gerard, in the early 80s, having been aware of the quality potential that the wines of this estate possessed.
This operation continued to grow with the acquisition of new plots in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet. Foreign markets later took an interest in the Saint-Aubin appellation due to the proximity to the Montrachet villages but with its reasonable prices and the Henri Prudhon estate quickly took advantage of this and established a lasting presence on the English ad American markets.
Nowadays, Gerard's two children, Vincent and Philippe, manage the domain. These men hold a degree in wine making and oenology respectively, and continue the work that the previous generations began, of bottling new appellations, continuing to devleop new markets and being hands-on in the processes on the estate.
