French saxophonist Bernie Willen, whose popularity was dramatically enhanced in 1957 when he joined Miles Davis on the soundtrack of Louis Malle's classic film noir. However, in the 1970s, Willen's popularity slowly began to wane, despite the fact that he had produced a great deal of great music in the meantime, and his 1987 LP, La Note Bleue, represents a resurgence in his career.This legendary album, produced in response to the success of Jacques de Roustal and Philippe Parineau's comic "Barney et la Note Bleue," which was partially inspired by his life, once again put the saxophonist's name on the scene.
