Vienna Boys' Choir, Peter Maag
Description:
Founded in 1498 by Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I as the Court Chapel Boys' Choir, the Vienna Boys' Choir has a tradition of more than 500 years and is known for the many musicians who began their careers here, including Antonio Salieri and Bruckner, and Haydn and Schubert as members of the choir. Haydn and Schubert were members of the ensemble, and many other musicians began their careers here. This box contains recordings from 1993 to 1995, conducted by Peter Marschik. Czencic, who sang at the top of the ensemble at that time, is now a very active countertenor with a unique character. This is a must-have box set for fans that includes Handel's great "Messiah," Mozart's "Requiem," "Ave Verum Corpus," and other works related to Vienna, as well as a collection of Christmas masterpieces as a bonus CD. Enjoy the eternal "singing of angels". Naxos Japan
